May I thank all the members of Springwood for making us feel so very welcome on our recent visit. Nothing was too much trouble with a great welcome at the gate, plus the offers of help to position our caravan and connect up to the available hook up on site. Invitations to join in with the miniten and petanque came from various members and we gladly accepted the challenge laid down. The social side of the club was also enjoyed with the superb entertainment offered something they should surely be proud off. All in all a super and relaxing break if we lived more locally we would certainly join as full members to enjoy the facilities far more than we were able to in such a short visit.John and Hazel
John and I would like to thank all the members of Springwood Sun Club. This was our first ever visit to a naturist club but we were soon put at ease by everyone we met and spoke to. Great food great company and good entertainment what more could you possibly want. You really do have a fantastic club and well worth the visit hopefully we will be back very soon.John and Eileen
The friendly members of this club made it a real pleasure to visit and being situated only a mattter of minutes off the main A12 near Colchester we didn’t take long to find the club. Upon arrival we were welcomed by members who were all to keen to show us around their club of which they are truly proud and so they should be. Much work has been done since our last visit even to the extent of the main club house having air-conditioning a real bonus in the evenings we were there which were really humid being in mid summer. Tom and AudreyWe had our mini holiday at ‘Springwood’ a naturist club just on the outskirts of West Bergholt near Colchester Essex. We approached the club through a narrow and somewhat pot-holed road, towing our caravan and following our Sat-Nav hoping we were going in the right direction without much prospect of being able to turn round easily should it be wrong. Had it not been for one of the members opening the entrance gate we would have driven straight by for their ‘Springwood’ sign was a bit on the inconspicuous side.Surrounded by dense wood land the club is kept in immaculate condition by the members who seem to work tirelessly cutting grass, trimming trees etc. There is a large duck pond and a woodland walk through the outskirts of the club which is totally un-overlooked and meanders past the log cabins which are owned by club members. The heated swimming pool is superb and with the sun blaring down my wife walked straight in and swam away calling, “come on in its lovely!” I knew the pool had only been heating for a short time but trusted her completely. DOH! I dived in and instantly thought that penguins would be more at home here than I was. Saying that the pool was really quite warm and improved rapidly throughout our stay 28c by the end, it’s just that I’m a coward when it comes to cold water swimming! The clubhouse is cosy with a large log burner for those chilly nights and facilities to make a drink, toast or heat a meal if required. There is also a large modern pavilion/function room complete with surround sound which was superb when they showed a film one evening.I know this is the first naturist club that my wife and I have been to but I cannot see how anyone is going to better it. All the people we met were so friendly and helpful so much so it was as though we had known them for years rather than just a few days.Thank you one and all for making our stay so enjoyable!Pete and Lesley.
